FEMA Funeral Assistance:

If your loved one or family member died from COVID-related reasons, you may be eligible for a reimbursement on your funeral expenses. The COVID-19 pandemic has brought overwhelming grief to many families.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, FEMA is providing financial assistance for COVID-19-related funeral expenses incurred between January 20, 2020 and March 11, 2023.

Applications will be accepted for qualifying incidents until September 30, 2025.

The application requires:

·       An official death certificate that attributes the death to COVID-19

·       Funeral expense documents or detailed bill

·       Proof of funds paid from self or received from other sources
